Parking Lot Striping Services by Job Type

Restriping faded layouts
Much striping work is repainting lines worn down by sun and tires, tracing the old marks. Prices on a restripe track the count of what gets painted, and one paint maker's list breaks it down this way:
- Standard stall: $4 to $5.
- Angle: 90° stalls cost more than angled ones, because the lines are longer.
- Mobilization: $250 to $350 per trip, which is why a small lot costs more per stall.
No source gives a fixed restriping interval. Restripe when lines are hard to read from a driver's seat, and every time the lot is sealed.

New layouts on fresh asphalt
A new or overlaid lot has no lines to follow, so the layout is measured and chalked first. The paint maker's list adds 20% to 30% to the job for a new layout. A standard stall is 9 feet by 18 feet in cost guide math. It is also the cheapest moment to fix traffic flow or move ADA spaces closer to the door. Ask for the layout drawn on a site plan before paint goes down, and keep a copy for the next restripe.

ADA stalls and access aisles
The 2010 ADA Standards set how many accessible spaces a lot needs, by total spaces:
| Total spaces | Accessible spaces |
|---|---|
| 1 to 25 | 1 |
| 26 to 50 | 2 |
| 51 to 75 | 3 |
| 76 to 100 | 4 |
| 101 to 150 | 5 |
| 151 to 200 | 6 |
| 201 to 300 | 7 |
| 301 to 400 | 8 |
| 401 to 500 | 9 |
| 501 to 1,000 | 2% of total |
For every 6 accessible spaces, or fraction of 6, at least 1 must be van accessible. So a small lot's single space is a van space.
- Widths: car spaces 96 inches minimum; van spaces 132 inches, or 96 inches when the aisle beside it is 96 inches wide.
- Access aisle: 60 inches wide minimum, as long as the space, and marked so people don't park in it.
- Slope: spaces and aisles no steeper than 1:48 in any direction. Paint can't fix slope.
- Location: on the shortest accessible route to an accessible entrance.
- Sign: the International Symbol of Accessibility, "van accessible" on van spaces, mounted with the bottom of the sign at least 60 inches above the ground.
One paint maker prices an ADA stall at $25 to $30. Ask whether the sign and post are in that price.

Fire lanes and painted curbs
Utah's State Fire Code adopts the 2024 International Fire Code, which says that where the fire code official requires it, fire apparatus access roads get approved signs or markings with the words No Parking and Fire Lane, kept clean and legible and replaced when they fade. Section 503.3 doesn't fix a color or a stencil size, so the city's fire code official decides what your lot needs. Prices from one paint maker:
- Fire lane: $40 to $75.
- Curb painting: about $1 per linear foot.

Stencils: arrows, EV and reserved stalls
One supplier's stencil prices:
- Directional arrows: $15 to $20 each.
- Word stencils (NO PARKING, RESERVED, EV, VISITOR): $3 to $5 per letter.
- Pedestrian crosswalks: $50 to $75 each.
Ask what paint the bid assumes. The same supplier recommends 100% acrylic water-based traffic paint for lots.

Why St. George homeowners and property managers call St. George Asphalt Co.
- The estimate costs you nothing and commits you to nothing
- Ask for thickness, base depth and tear-out on the written bid
- Your job goes to one paving contractor, never a lead auction
- Property owners pay nothing for the introduction
